Our Ministries


Church & Society

Church and Society focuses on social justice, advocacy, and public witness, rooted in Christian faith and the teachings of John Wesley. Its mission is to promote the social principles and policies of the UMC and to help the church live out its faith through action in the world.


Global Ministries

The Global Ministries Team connects the church in mission by supporting missionaries, disaster responses, promoting health and education, and partnering with churches and organizations around the world to make disciples of Jesus Christ and foster global justice and transformation.


Sanctuary Ministry

Harris UMC’s Sanctuary Ministry Team provides support and fellowship to our immigrant neighbors as they navigate our nation’s challenging immigration system. Since 2017, we have convened meetings and trainings and organized an informal Hawaii Sanctuary Network, which includes other congregations and individuals to support immigrants in our state.


Soup Ministry

The Soup Ministry was started in 1980 by George and Adeline Fish. The ministry meets weekly to make soup for Institute of Human Services.


Spiritual Formations Ministry

Spiritual Formations Ministry focuses on growing spiritually & faithfully by learning/study, connecting, and serving each other, our neighborhood, and our broader community. 


Worship

Our Worship Team is responsible for leading the congregation in musical and spiritual worship during services and other church events. Their main goal is to help create an atmosphere where people can connect with God through music, prayer, and praise.


Youth

The Youth meets Sundays at 9:00 am in Room 16.

1st Sunday: Bible Study with Aunty Diane

2nd & 3rd Sundays: Youth Praise Band with Skylar Y.

4th Sunday: UMYF with Uncle Keven.
