Christian Education

Through  God’s grace, we are committed to helping people discern  God’s
intention for their lives through worship, study of the Scripture, and sharing in our faith journeys with one another.

Our Mission

The Education Ministries, in partnership with families and our Harris Church community, will...
...Nurture Christian faith and values in a caring supportive environment
...Share God’s love by teaching about Jesus Christ and God’s love and activity on their behalf in the world
...Provide opportunities to explore the Christian faith and avenues to put that faith into action.

Harris Plants the SEED (SErvice and EDucation)

Establishing the roots of God's love into our community through service and mission.  Not only do we teach about God's love but we recognize that all of God's children are deserving and loved by all.

Our Curriculum

The curriculum from Cokesbury Publishing Co. is designed to encourage children and youth to be transformed by Christ.  Age level appropriate texts and activities allow them to learn to comprehend and apply the Biblical lessons to their everyday lives.

Cokesbury's Deep Blue curriculum was developed to be a creative resource for teachers/volunteers to help children learn about what is means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.  The curriculum is age appropriae and incorporates exciting storytelling via animation, arts & craftgs, science experiments and FUN!

Overall, this curriculum:

*Reinforces the Bible story and develops the story's importance to the child,

*Uses self-directed activities that help to develop independent learning skills,

*Encourages expressions of their faith development through a fun outlet of creative craft activities,

*Take home activities connect parents & children through God's Word.
